Yes, my contorted willow needs cutting down soon. I pollard it ever year to keep under control. The labels and books made it sound like it would grow quite slowly and described it as a large shrub.Slow growing shrub my foot, it grows to about 15 ft tall every year from hard cutting back (to just about 2/3 ft high) every spring.

wow thats a lot of growth....this one does about ten foot i suppose. but my contorted one much slower....but it is on very poor dry soil so i suppose that would account for it.

Yes, Sandra our horrible clay is full of nutrients and so if plants don't mind the wet in the winter, it does make them grow fast!

i been shredding all the off cuts....i do enjoy a good shred....lol

I got rid of my shredder. Couldn't get on with it. Tooo noisy and slow. I'd rather do it with apair of loppers for the smaller bits. Good excercise too!!

its a pain getting it out and sorting out the lectrics ...but it soon sorts ot all out. mine has a grinding wheel not to noisey. i been sorting out my griselinia plants again today. so im getting enough exercise up and down the hill.

Yes,Griselina, they are another enthusiastic grower. I have one that I bought as a tiny little whip in a supermarket about 4 years ago and it took it's time establishing but it's certainly making up for lost time now!
