She had Twins!


She had Twins! (Neomarica gracilis)

What is this, I look up and the same bud is making a second flower! I thought it was finished. This I haven't seen before.

Does the flower stem come out of the leaf? Looking at all the photo's I can't make out a stem.

It comes out of the leaf. The center leaf splits and gets fat, then the weight tumbles it over like this. A very short stem grows out, fattens and the buds pops out. After flowering, this section plants itself and a new plant grows. Its really interesting.
