It has such big leaves

It does and barely fits in the room. I have to skirt past it to do anything. Now and then I remove a leaf and wrap it around a fish before baking. Steams it with a gentle banana flavor. :-)

You wan eat it aswell ? It sounds nice

It is nice to have. I learned to use it in Mexico, wrapped around a red snapper. Amazing that this whole plant smells like a banana.

Thank you David. It makes a wonderful flavor and seals in the steam. I'd never know without eating from a tropical menu. I've never been anywhere else where you'd just pull a leaf to seal up your food. :-)

Ok..now I would not mind having one of those..I used to have a basket made of Banana leaves..until Phoebe as a puppy chewed it..buzz saw teeth you know..
Love the idea of using the leaves to steam...only in the tropics..wonderful...yummmmmm..

:-) Be ready. This was just a little banana houseplant from Lowes and now its 4ft wide and tall. Needs its space. Feels tropical to make fish in banana. :-)
