It is in the same family as Eucalyptus (Myrtaceae family). However, the bark is soft and spongy.

Actually, it can be...look at my photos of Eucalytus deglupta - Rainbow Gum, Mindanao Gum. The trunk have almost all the shades of the rainbow. lol!

Its wonderful, it is just like strips of paper eucalyptus is similar in the sense its bark peels of in strips :o)))
