These bees were swarming and clustering in this tree in Balboa Park. I was lucky enough to get pretty close without getting stung.

Thanks! Yes, this would be a horrible place to be if you're allergic to bees.

I have had bees gather in a bush overnight while they rest then they move on the next day .It happened 2 years on the trot about 4-5 years ago in the may time but not since..

This happens a lot here in San Diego...about 5 years ago I had bees making a hive on the southwest side of my house. Had to have them taken away.
One of my neighbors 2 years ago had a whole wall taken out because bees make a hive in the whole wall...then a year ago my neighbor 2 doors down had the same thing happen. Bees can be a big problem here...and now the bee companies will only exterminate them because they don't want to chance any mixing (hybrids) of killer and honey bees. It don't like this practice.
