Clematis 'Pixie'

Clematis 'Pixie'

Haven't always had a lot of success with this Clematis, as tend to lose to frost, but this one has done really well so far, and last year it gave me such an impressive display. Am keeping fingers crossed that it will do equally as well this year, will keep you informed lol!

It's so unusual....now I want more clematis, but mine never look very good or flower well, I'm obviously doing something wrong.. like neglect:-(

I think our soil does tend to suit them,as here it is alkaline/neutral based, and when the sun does appear, we do get a lot it over the garden, which helps as they like their heads in the sun, but roots and base of stems in the shade. They also like moist soil, though not too wet. Not all of my ones are successful, if that's any consolation Ba, slugs, snails and wilt are all a bit of a battle, and I do lose the odd one or two, but then when there's so many others out there in the Garden Centres, I don't grieve too deeply lol! Have you tried some in pots?:-0

Mine has survived the harsh Winter, but does need a bit of protection Tommy, so be aware. Have lost 'Pixie' in the past, so must have done something right this Winter I guess,as it's come through it lol! It really is so dainty, and although the flowers are not large, it does flower it's little heart out for you :~))

This one is from your area, Pip, and in the past, I have lost them in the Winter, but this one actually has survived, despite being a little tender...Glad you like it!
