Salmon-coloured grasses in Salmon ?

TT...LOL! The foxtail grass gets very russet colored through the end of summer. A lovely look but it reseeds something terrible and the seeds get stuck in dog noses like thorns. Its all over my garden here too, but I pull it all out and don't let the seed heads get going.
Thank you Rkalyan. This is the ravine behind the house I grew up in. I always loved these big thistles and recently learned how similar they are to the artichoke or globe thistle.

Sounds like you do well to pull out a lot of the grass from your garden area..

I had a go at editing your photograph on my picture manager and although I was able to see a bit more clearly it was not too clear so I went hunting on the internet. I thought your thistle looked like our scotch thistle. It too grows in the Salmon valley. Artichoke is a thistle so they are not too dissimilar, but the artichoke is not as spiny as the thistle. Your photo is lovely.

I am still looking for one better....lol. This wasn't what I expected. :-) I have matched it to scotch thistle, but the artichoke, never. I'll flip through some photos, see if I can come up with a close up. I must have one, I love them so much.
