I have these in the back garden border - to my surprise, they died in the frost. They're quite a hardy plant...not this time. :-((

'Bowles' Mauve' survived well, so did a variegated one, and the yellow one as well! These were sheltered and in the warmest part of the garden. They still didn't make it. :-((

lost all mine apart from a good sized 'chelsea jacket, one bowles mauve cutting and one yellow gem. lost this one 2 years ago.

Oh dear. If we get any more cold winters, they might have to be classed as 'annuals', mightn't they!

or half hardy/ tender yet more to fleece. :o(
21 Mar, 2010
Nope. I have enough to fleece - these were not expensive, and for the flowering period, which as you know will be right through until October, they're excellent value.

What a shame.

you hav elots of wonderful flowers in your garden Barbara

Thanks, Holly. Yes, Carol - the previous plants came through the last winter, so I shall have to hope they do again. These Erysimum are so lovely, and they 'go' with my colour scheme.

I do love the colour of this one.....
23 Mar, 2010
Thank you, Dd. I just 'have' to have these in the back garden scheme - they fit so well. :-))

mmm I'll have to look at mine in the front garden when it stops raining
26 Mar, 2010
So you have the same weather, do you? Isn't it a pain....:-(((
26 Mar, 2010
'fraid so, I'm going stir crazy at the moment LOL
27 Mar, 2010
You'd laugh at me - yesterday I dashed in and out between showers to do odd things - I had to give up at about 5 though - it POURED and didn't stop.

we had for once a dry day, but used it to go to that GC in Plymouth :))
I checked my Apricot one, and it's survived :D
28 Mar, 2010
That's good! Mine did the previous year, so I was hoping...
Were there any lovely plants around at Plymouth? (Silly question - of COURSE there were!)
28 Mar, 2010
LOL yes, but I was very restrained, I'm saving myself for the Cornwall show ;)
29 Mar, 2010
When is that? Soon?
29 Mar, 2010
yes it's 10/11th April, at Bocconoc House, lovely show run by the Cornwall Garden Society, and it's nice they use mostly local nurseries.
29 Mar, 2010
VERY soon! Sounds great. I hope you've saved up your pocket money! ;-)

What a shame, lovely colour, I have one with a variegated leaf (Cotswold something), which fingers crossed looks ok.
