I've just had another look at this photo! this area really looks bad doesn't it. Roll on Easter I want to get out their and tackle this part of the garden. Any one got a magic wand????All help gratefully accepted lol

Looks like a nice size to work with. More like the space had in mind. I can see the area where you have shade, reminds me of my previous house. Looks like a pretty flat area, do you have trouble with waterlogging. Its nice to see real gardens and them in progress too. What wildlife do you expect to attract in?

Ive noticed a significant increase in birds and flying insects this year.

When I get the water feature in I expect a quantum leap in the population of all wildlife.

Well, Where shall I start? I have today turned over the soil and flattened it down a bit. the middle part of the garden does get water logged at times. I am concentrating on my wildlife area first and then I will dig over the area to the right of this picture, probably incorporating more compost and some sand to help it to drain better. At the mo I have an abdundance of sparrows, crows, blue tits, a robin, wren, great tits loads of horrible pigeons who fight the smaller birds for food. I have for the 1st time seen 2 goldfinches in my garden Had a sparrow hawk the other morning couldnt believe my eyes thought I'd died and gone to heaven!!!. We get damsonflies peacock butterflies and the blue ones, bees, lacewings, wasps, - im allergic to these so have to be careful. This sounds quite lot doesnt it? but I want more. I love mother nature and all she brings to my garden. To try and get more wildlife into my garden I need to vary my planting. If you look at the picture nothing is in flower. The plants in my garden are interesting to wildlife in late spring and through the summer. Not much for them in autum and winter except a bit of ground cover. So this is my priority. Oh ocassionaly I get a squirrel, seen him/her for the first time this year. So I am hopeful

Actually you cant really see the area I am talking about very well it lies in front of the piece of wood over the compost heap. I have taken some pics today and will get one of the girls to upload them tomorrow. The space is 9 feet in depth from the fence and 10 feet straight up the garden. Hope that makes sense lol
