Amaryllis in living room 2010-03-25

This is one of the original Amaryllis I bought 9 years ago in the 1st Continental Market held in Huntingdon. I bought 3 bulbs one red, one white & one red with a white line down the centre of each petal. The following year I planted the 3 bulbs in one pot & there they have stayed ever since. Each year the pure red one flowers though the other two are more "temperamental" & flower at different times.

Balcony

The flowers are now opening! This one never ceases to give me at least one flower stem each year! There are three different colour bulbs in the pot & they have all lived in the same pot for about 7 or 8 years now! No sign yet of flower buds on any of the others but my seedlings are going "great guns!" I've had to wait 4 years but now most of the seedling bulbs are putting up flower stems. :-)
