Odontonema callistachyum - Lavender Firestick

Odontonema callistachyum - Lavender Firestick (Odontonema callistachyum - Lavender Firestick)

My Lavender Firestick has many flower spikes. This plant is very difficult to photograph because the true color cannot be captured with any camera.(that I know of) Photo taken March 28, 2010.

Maybe it's the angle, but they look like big leaves on that.

Meanie:

It's the very brilliant colors which are difficult to capture...even with the best camera. Yes, this plant has large leaves to 12 inches/ 31 cm. long. It also can grow tall: to 15 feet/ 4.6 meters tall. Mine shrub is around 11 feet/ 3.4 meters tall though.
