Brunfelsia pauciflora - Yesterday-today-and-tomorrow

All the Yesterday-today-and-tomorrow shrubs are blooming everywhere this time of year. Photo taken in Balboa Park, San Diego, CA. on Apr. 7, 2010. It's called Yesterday-today-and-tomorrow because flowers opening purple, then turning pale lavender and finally white.

When I posted a pic of this wonderful plant in a recent pic, Spritzhenry told me that she knows of one growing outdoors (for several years now) in a garden in her county in SW England. A comment was made that, after the prolonged extra-cold winter in the UK this past winter, it might now be "yesterday's" plant. Must find out if it did, indeed, survive.

This shrub is pretty tough...even if it freezes to the ground it still may come back from the roots. It also grows very quickly.
