Hydrangea petiolaris

Could do another year there. I guess I don't know how quickly it grows.

I would love one of these. Is it in a pot because it has to be? if so it will probably need a larger container. I have planted a clematis montana in a pot-yes I know Im not supposed to but hey ho!

Lovely, healthy plant, Sanbaz. Are you keeping it in a pot to restrict its growth? I've only known them planted in the ground, when they do grow large but beautiful :)

hi GT, mageth and Gee, when i got this and another i didnt think where to put them both, one is in border and this one i intended to disguise the garage extension but not thinking about ground space to plant so it went in a pot, think i may have to plant it somewhere different before it gets pot bound :o)

I've only had them in groud aswell, but see how it goes in a pot.

A big pot right where you want it would still work I think, San. Keep it under control by the garage with the pruning it would enjoy for being in a pot. :-) If it comes to that. :-) Just takes a bit more care watering.

They do prefer to be in the ground but as Greenthumb says, ok in large pot if pruned after flowering & watered often.

thanx Jb will keep an eye on it, been there since last spring and ok but as it grows i may have to repot or put in the ground ;o)

I have an hydangea about the same size as yours Sandra, not so tall but wider and it is in a similar sized pot. I don't think it needs repotting. What I sometimes do, but not every year, is take mine out of the pot shake some of the old soil off and put fresh in. :-)

yes thats an idea richard, will do that after its flowered as done want to disturb it right now ;o))

I accidentally knocked a bit off my hydrangea once Sandra and it rooted OK as a cutting -just an idea to increase your stock if you wanted too :-)
