Michaella...we only found it by accident in one nursery we visited. It is a native water plant. You could google it ?
We too Gee..only bought last autumn and it sank straight to the bottom of the pond.Goodness knows how it survived the winter we had !!

25 Apr, 2010

i looked them up and one site who sell them said out of season at moment,,strange,, it sinks to bottom in winter then rises up for summer, clever really and very hardy.

how is it doing now? We used to have one years ago but dont know what happened to it. ah we moved house in feb so wouldnt have found it in the pond. the fish came to the suface and we caught really easily so this plant get left behind.

Its a strange plant Sbg with male and female varieties - only rising to the surface to flower ours was on its way up then the ducks arrived ! They ve churned up the water nibbled flowers off the water hawthorn but if ducklings visit think we can forgive them ..
