Pansy, i'm sure the abundance of flowers is due to me cutting it hard back in the autumn or winter (can't remember which now).
It had got very sparse and cutting it back was the only option - so i did, and .... loads of flowers !!!!!
I'll do it again if it needs it, now i know it'll be okay :-))

Think azaleas are great in pots Louise...especially as you can enjoy them from your windows and move around if necessary !

Gunner, this is sandy - doesn't hold a drop of moisture and despite adding tons of organic matter my water bill's always high because of it, plus, i'm on a hillside ..... it's lose-lose here :-/
I have to grow plants that suit the situation, pointless trying otherwise :-/
However ..... !!!
The 'back' garden was landscaped/levelled before i got here and, it's all imported topsoil - neutral-acid ..... i can grow completely different things here
