Not me,Great,Russell is the handyman..I just delegate, and plant Lol.It looks a bit bare on this pic,as I am hoping my Fuchsias in the trough have survived, but its not looking good.I have had 2 of them, from cuttings for over 30 years,so will be gutted if they have died...very sentimental," of them are on my Avatar.

I thought I'd lost mine Bloomer, but I saw tiny, wenny little leaf at the weekend. So fingers crossed for you. I love my fuchsias bought another 12 at the weekend in Lidl. £3.99 for 6

I have had some good bargains from Lidl too ,....Good isn't it ? :o)
I should have edited my last comment,as I have just noticed I pressed " instead of 2,after sentimental.Lol.If I can't understand it,no one else can either ...duh.

Looks good Bloomer it should keep you in a bit of lettuce. I put up another gutter today underneath the first one, but not too near it and planted it also with salad leaves and spring onions... :-)

good idea,Richard.I haven't any more flat spars to screw guttering on,and I have 1/2 moon shape baskets on my shed.I am going to plant out Lollo rosso lettuce today, but they are going in a container. At least some of my salad ones are not taking room up on the patio now,so I will see how they progress in the guttering.I like experimenting ,and enjoy a challenge ...Thanks.

I am sure the lettuce will come on fine Bloomer. I added a third gutter to the shed today-that is the last one I had, and I planted it with spinach so that will be interesting to see how that goes too. I didn't have any proper ends so used flower pots on there instead to stop the compost coming out! :-)

A smashing idea Richard....well executed by Sandra...oh and Russell....lol
At least you won't have to bed down to collect the salad for your lunch :-)

Bed down,Louise?..whatever do you mean ?Lol... I think I know really.I will just have to be careful not to nod off then :o))

Thanks Amblealice glad you like the idea. Yes it is at a handy height too for collection and looking for any weeds!
Ha ha no good snoozing on the job Bloomer .....lol ;-)

you are so right,Richard..the next pic could be of me ,head down in the ,as yet,
empty trough underneath the guttering Lol.Russell is on holiday next week,so
will be very careful, just in case he has the camera handy :o))
Sorry,Louise, for taking the mickey ....it made me laugh.

What are you planting in the trough below Bloomer?

he.he.he.he...Sandra ..we are both good at this arn't we? lol .... "bend" being the operative word...lol...lo.....(giggle)........!!!!

I was hoping, the Fuchsias I have had for years had survived the winter, but it doesn't look as though they have. Its my own fault as I forgot to take cuttings, just in case,as I usually do.They were well protected with double layers of fleece, and have always rallied round ,but this time,it doesn't look good. These are the ones I have on my Avatar, the bi colour, pink and purple. It was one I bought my mum,so it had special memories.Anyway,on a brighter note,I haven't really decided, but it will be something trailing, and as it is facing north, with dappled light through the fence, something suitable for the position.I have had trailing Begonias in the past, but fancy a change. It does get full sun in the morning, from the east,so I suppose there are lot of things suitable......Bet you wished you had never asked Richard .Lol..turned into a bit of a Saga..:o))
What are you like,Louise ?...Yes,we are VERY good at this Great to have a giggle though isn't it ?..I bet you have had another busy day..and you will feel so much better if you go to "bend"early..he..he..he..!!!!

No Bloomer I'm glad I asked I have never heard of trailing begonias before only the ordinary ones - I bet they look nice.
They have a nice lot of fuchsias at a reasonable price in Wilkinson's Bloomer if you can get there or know someone (not sure if they do on line orders) but maybe you can replace the one that you lost-just an idea :-)

I'm off to "bend" early Sandray....lol......your fuchsia may still "come up trumps"....don't be too hasty to throw it away......gd ngtttttt x xx

I got my trailing begonias a few years ago from Wilkinsons,Richard.Mine were called Pink Cascade.Sorry I haven't a photo,as I didn't have a laptop or digital camera then. The tubers got so big eventually, but I learned from Goy,that I could have cut them into sections, instead of throwing them away .Another good reason for joining !! I haven't been into Wilko's for a while,so will take a look. The Variety of the Fuchsia was,I think, called Lena, which is an old variety, and I kept it going for 35 years,by cuttings, but thanks for your advice...
Thanks Louise,I was about to dig them up today, but will leave them a bit longer, just in case. They are usually the last of my fuchsias to start growing, but don't look good. By the way,my dear,I believe "spell check" is very good .he...he..he..:o))))

I used to have that one Bloomer, Lena, but not any more as I went a bit mad collecting them like stamps and got overwhelmed in the end. Now I will just keep a few :-)
