there are a pair of robins nesting somewhere near...they come to my garden for the worms... just stepped out on my back deck a minute ago and the snow is still coming down, it's been falling for 12 hours now... and one of the robins is sitting in the eleagnus...muttering to himself. (I say muttering because it's very low volume cross between a chirp and a twitter..). feel so sorry for the poor little guys. it's wet and it's cold...and the snow will send the worms down into the soil...not good at all~!

what bird is this Lori ?

This is Turdus migratorius, (the North American Robin). It was so named because it reminded early English settlers of the lovely English robin. These birds are much larger than your robins, they have a delightful song, eat insects and worms, produce beautiful blue eggs in mud and grass nests in porches, barns, sheds and trees! They are not shy of people and we love them as the harbingers of spring! In April and May they return to Canada from the southern United States. This picture was taken during a late snow storm! Poor bird, bet he wishes he'd stayed in Miami or Albuquerque!

It looks a bit lost what to do - our robins also have blue eggs - nice birds
