beautifull, my early senation not been good this year barbara, should have flowers now i think, it has a similar leaf to this one, is it same type

No - 'Early Sensation' is a lot smaller flowered. Mine is a bit unhappy, as well - I reckon the east wind had something to do with that!
I don't think that either of them are particularly hardy. :-((( Sorry, Dd..........will you try again?

ok thanx barbara, its still alive but no new growth at the moment anyway, maybe i will give a bit of protection this winter,

Has it got any buds? Mine has a few....well, it did last time I looked! lol
3 May, 2010
i think two lol and last year when i got it it grew lovely and had a dozen flowers at least

Hmmm...and you're further north. If mine doesn't 'pick up' next year, I'm not trying again - I lost one last year. I think they need a very sheltered warm corner.

ok thanx barbara, will see how itgoes, its west facing and is prtected with other plants to a degree

I hope it survives....I hope mine does, too! LOL.

i hate that job barbara ;o((
3 May, 2010
Hallo again - my hands are stiff and I broke a nail as well. I did the job, though! MOST uncomfortable, on hands and knees on the gravel, even tho' I knelt on my little mat!
My 'Early Sensation' is fine - it's almost in flower...I 'did' remember to look at it! :-)))

glad sensation is ok barbara, your poor hands and knees, a good soak ready for tomoz ;o)

Think last Winter really caught so many of our plants on the hop,as up till now,we have had a relatively easy time of it. Know I have lost a few of mine this year, sob :~((

Me too - I've been trying to replace casualties, and I'm almost there. My two Correas which both died, I'm not replacing - I've planted a hardy shrub instead.
4 May, 2010
Think from now on,if our Winters are going to be as harsh as this one, will plant deeper, and mulch very heavily just to be on the safe side, LOL! :~))

My Avalanche didn't make it.....sniff....yours looks really well though!

Poor Karen....yes, it's fine...thanks. :-))

To be honest, it has never done well. I think it was in a too dry spot at the fence. I shall think about reinvesting in another one....they are so beautiful and it used to be my first clem in flower....really looked forward to it in my old garden as it covered the fence to the deck.
6 May, 2010
It isn't a particularly hardy one, I gather.
6 May, 2010
No, it's not. NZ var. none of them are, but my old one did fine...I have a sunny and sheltered spot where I could try again. Hope you enjoy your walk...I need to go and get dressed...I know...shocking!
