Hostas with Heather

Hostas just starting to show in front of the wall. The white one (white feather?) will eventually turn green, but it's very unusual when it opens at first.

I have never had to copper tape them or anything else in the garden - I think the gravel puts them off and if that doesn't then the birds get them! Lol... and I've heard that if you put toothpicks about then that stops them too! Also heard that teabags sprayed with heatspray for sore muscles deters cats, but I haven't tried that either.

Do the snails/slugs stay off, Clematisa? I have just copper taped my pots of hostas.
