Mushy did you leave this one in all winter, we are growing a variegated one and it is really thin compared to yours.....it has been inside all winter.

Palmate, you're brave to grow this plant. This plant can become very invasive...and like you say it can grow very tall.

It does and your left with huge 15ft canes..
I cut them down and my neighbours kids and friends make wigwams and dens
from them..:o))))
