17 May, 2010

Mine failed last year......think I got the planting stage all wrong but keep that quiet!

Gonna plant again in October for next Spring and see what happens. Looks like you've got a good crop Richard, well done.

LOL We won't breath a word Oddbillie, Richard has a good saying, which he relayed to me, plant on the shortest day of the year it will be ready by the longest day to harvest.

Yes Sixpence someone told me that so that is what I have done this time -they should be ready in about a month so I'll let you know what they are like. :-)
Sorry to hear that Dan - this is the first time for me to try garlic so hope they will be OK. I transplanted two dwarf sunflowers in the garden today! :-)

Hi Cristina -they say to plant garlic on the shortest day and harvest it on the longest day that's what I did this time. I just separated the cloves from a bulb I bought in the supermarket and planted those...lol. You must be able to plant it at other times but I don't know when maybe someone on here can advise, or else you can post a question above :-)
