Gorgeous bronze leaved plant, of the witch hazel family, with bright pink spidery flowers.

Oh, that's a pity, Spritz thought she lost hers but i think she said she's seen a little sign of life.
In the GC yesterday they had lots of them, really nice looking plants too, maybe your sister could call in and pick one up for you :-)))

are you trying to make me buy more plants LOL
We have the Tavistock Flower Fest next weekend, so I might just find one there ;))

Golly, is it 'that' time again .... i know you go there each year :-))
I have to say, the plants i saw yesterday were 'very' good .... far, far nicer and better than mine :-((
Worth every penny !

yes comes round quickly doesn't it, it's a busy one too because of the bank holiday :)

My little one 'almost' died - not in the frost, as i had it well-wrapped up, but when I took the fleece off, and a nasty east wind 'got' it.
However, when I went to dig it up and plant the replacement (from Malvern!) I saw little buds appearing all over it, so it can stay. :-)))))

A very unusual plant like it though......

Grindle, I plan to be at Tavistock as well, went last year & also go to most of the Plant Heritage sales.
Louise, so sorry to but in. Your Loropetalum is looking great, mine took a battering this winter, but not dead yet.

Thanks Dd and Pam :-))
I think they 'did' take a battering in winter, goodness knows how this one made it through because it was only planted in the late autumn, i might have left planting it until spring if i'd known how cold the winter would be.

I bought two of these as my Christmas present to me, from a mail order firm I'd not used before. Spritz warned me they are tender, so am keeping them indoors until the weather warms up. They are flowering and making new growth . . . so quite good as a "house plant" for the time being! Lovely. :)

I must go & look at mine tomorrow sheila see how it's done this winter.

Mine are well wrapped up in fleece. One still looks a bit iffy, though. :-(
13 Jan, 2011
Mine looks perfect, the weather hasn't affected it at all :-))))

That's good - but not surprising, Louise. :-)
