And then one evening, Bianca and I found what the spider was waiting for. What a shock! Bianca was just as curious as I, couldn't keep her out of the shot.....lol. I hadn't seen even one of these visit yet.

Nice capture of nature taking it's course. I wonder if it tastes as lovely as it looks....not that I would care to try it, lol!

They are very rare in the UK. I believe only to be found in areas of Norfolk?

TY. This is yellow and black, these colorful undersides were something I'd never noticed. Quick Google and it is definately the Tiger Swallowtail. I think this fellow caught him from the bloom as he came in to drink in it. It hunts the rudbeckia blooms in fall. Clever spider, and I don't think the flier got away. It wasn't moving, even with Bianca's nose touching it. Sad but that is what the spider does.

Here they are all over Amblealice. No shortage in any way.

Ah...didn't realize it was upside down...what a shame...it would be a great treat to see any Swallowtail here.

It can be such a difficult environment here that I am always amazed to see them. They are beautiful.

Storing for next winter... wise spider!

Its going to town! There is a bumblebee and a hover fly body under the flowers now. This spot is working out for a hunter very well.

That butterfly will keep that spider fed for a while I would think! I wonder if it will 'go off' before he's finished devouring it! ;)

Most I know of inject a preservative into the body that dissolves the insides and keeps them for longer to come back to. Gross but effective. :-)

Really wild. This spider has been around here for years, must like the tall area flowers I plant. :-)
