I think I saw one in my garden this evening whilst on a slug hunt - I'll try to remember to take a photo of it tomorrow! Exciting, isn't it?

It might have been in the compost, Dan. Look on it as a wild flower in the wrong place. I'm not doing very well with my seeds this year - didn't get started until late and next door's hedge has rocketed and shaded out my greenhouse. :-(((

Perhaps you had a dodgy batch of seed - violas should germinate quite easily. Which supplier did you get them from?

They came from a Wyevale and I believe they were Johnsons but would have to check.
