River Wye

This is a picture I took while on my bluebell outing. It is the River Wye quite close to its confluence with the River Lugg, which I understand is a corruption of the Celtic word 'Lugh', which referred to the Pagan moon god and roughly means 'shining one', which I think is rather lovely. I discovered a colony of Curlews (spelling?) near this stretch last year. Hope they return....

This looks like a good picnic spot. I love to see the curlews and in the Spring Gerry and I saw about thirty of more of them gathering near one of our local reservoirs. Lindak
