think it might be a shrew, they are lovely, we have them here and last year we had a mouse that was permanently running around the garden busy looking for food they are nice to see, I like them, but I know lots of people don't. Alright in the garden but not in the house lol.

He/she is obviously enjoying the beautiful surroundings Panyspotter. I love to see all the wildlife in the garden, it is good and makes you realise you are doing your bit for the environment . Obviously a healthy area or they would not keep coming back - great stuff.

It's a woodmouse and they are lovely to watch. We used to get them in our stone wall. We got bank voles as well and they have a rounded face with very short tail.I used to pop a few sunflower seeds down for them. One day I went to put my gardening shoes on in the porch and couldn't get one of them on. SOmething was right inside so I went out and tipped up my shoe and a little woodmouse came out but unfortunately Twinkle got it........

What a lovely little wood mouse. We once had a family of them, and the mother brought the babies out to feed on Salvia seeds on the stalk, and on the 3rd day, left them to their own devices. I then read up about them in an encyclopeadia and thats just what they do.

Seems very young to leave the babies on their own, poor little things, but thats nature! judging by the numbers about they must do ok though!

Oh no Pp, they may be older than 3 days, but apparently they are taken out feeding for 3 days and then left.
