thanx marguerite for info, yes this has white flowers so it is fatsia like you say, will look the other one up to so i know the difference ;o))

my god thats a long link....seems over here its known as a false caster oil plant....but the ricinus is very similar....i love the red one..but have been put off it because of the poisonous seeds....

We grow both of them, the red is gorgeous and it is in the jungle, we do have to keep the little one away from it, because it is very toxic but then most plants are if they are eaten, so yours is Fatsia Japonica, we have had to prune ours every year as it gets very large, decided to take a cutting and start one in the jungle.

mine needs a big chop San..taking over the path now...took some cuttings last year..lost a few but others are growing nicely.

Looks very fit & healthy. This was the first one I bought last year at the start of gardening venture. Love the leaves and love to see the new ones unfolding.
