Wow, very pretty and so white! how long will it take to get dirty?

I have a similar one but I don't think it's a bird cage. It opens from the top like a lid and was meant as a planter. If there was a bird in there it would fly away when you opened it lol. It's very nice. Will look great when filled out :o)

I have a similar one as well. I painted it yellow. I like the suggestion of a variegated plant. Thanks Gee19.

hi hywel after seeing yours iv been on the look out for one , also mine opens from top to so maybe your right, not sure cause in the victorian days would they have bird cages with front doors like us, love it anyway whatever it is lol ;o))
yes iv put a varigated plant in Brosebo not easy to plant up cause a pot was to high so thats why i used a cut up white carrier bag ;o)) found some on internet hywel and they are bird cages, more ornimentel really i think ;o)

22 Jun, 2010

lol holly , yes a bit cramped haha

22 Jun, 2010

The antique dealer who sold it to me said it was never meant as a bird cage because the bird would fly away when you open the lid lol. Silly design if it is a bird cage.
Anyway it doesn't matter as long as the plants look nice in it :o))
