Not a strong grower in my garden.

I made the same comment on Louise's picture, it doesn't do too well in my garden either, I love the flowers

So do I...unfortunately, I got three 'tiddlers' as a special offer from T&M a few years ago, the other two have fizzled out, and this is left. It's not a healthy thriving plant at all...I might think about buying a decent bigger plant and trying again, because it is certainly a beautiful clem.

:( T&M grrrrrr ( you know what I think of them!)

Do you know - I (stupidly) ordered two or three things from them (plugplants) and the Coreopsis haven't come. I month late so far - I rang them and they couldn't have cared less. No new delivery date, no apology either. :-(((( It's far too late for this year! I'll try keeping them in the g'house and see what happens...that's if the ever turn up!
28 Jun, 2010
the coreopsis didn't even make it through the winter and they were purposely taken inside as a precaution, I emailed them and didn't hear a thing !!!! as far as I'm concerned you might just as well chuck your money down the drain (off my soapbox now LOL)

WHY did I order them? I'm so cross with myself! You're right - that Coreopsis collection cost me £17.99....and I haven't even got them yet! What a waste of money. Grrrrrrr........

I love the flower on this one Spritz but if it isn`t doing so well with you perhaps I`ll not bother, I already have `Dutchess of Edinburgh` which I planted this year and am finding it to be very weak, still its nice to be able to compare notes.

Louise has this one - hers is fine! So don't give up on it....it might just be the poor start it had...

I hope they grow for you Spritz, I was not happy I lost mine. I'll be looking for the same ones elsewhere
30 Jun, 2010
That was the problem - the other suppliers didn't list them this year, so T&M were the only ones if I wanted those Coreopsis...to make matters worse, I've seen adverts for the collection recently. They 'still' haven't come. :-((

grrrr, I ordered a clematis from them and had to wait nearly a YEAR for it to come despite several emails and phone calls
1 Jul, 2010
Good grief!! I'm speechless!!
1 Jul, 2010
maybe I just got unlucky, but I won't use them again
2 Jul, 2010
I have to agree - too many bad experiences! It's JULY - what am I supposed to do with plug-plant Coreopsis when/if they do arrive?

I had 3 'jumbo super poppies' a week or so ago from T&M. I was rather hoping that they would flower THIS year when I ordered. They are minute, one has 3 tiny leaves about an inch in length and that is the best one! one looks dead, the other has just 1 quarter inch leaf. I emailed them and they have refunded the money, but it doesn't make up for the disappointment or the fact it is too late to buy replacements. There will be very little mail order for next year, and not T&M. I also ordered geranium double jewel, summer skies and birch's double from Van Meuwen, double jewel has opened as a pinkish single, others still not open. I sent them pics yesterday and asked what they are going to do about it so all I can do is wait. I was dying to see it, couldn't wait for it to open:-( I hope they are a decent company. Nice pic Spritz lol:-)

it's really disappointing isn't it BA, I must admit I've given up on most of the big mail order plant companies, unless it's really hard to get it from anywhere else. Hope you get your money back from VM
4 Jul, 2010
I don't know much about VM Grindle, do you? Have you used them Spritz?
4 Jul, 2010
no sorry BA, I don't think I've ever ordered from them
4 Jul, 2010
No - but I've heard bad news about their products, Ba....I'm sorry you're having problems as well. :-(( We're all learning who NOT to oreder from, aren't we!
4 Jul, 2010
I suppose it's better to order from specialist British growers...the catalogues are just so exciting...but unreliable:-( Hope all is well with you? :-))
4 Jul, 2010
So far, so good, thank you. He 'seems' well enough, but we have to talk to the vet again about further investigations...something triggered it - we'd like to know what!
As far as mail-order is concerned, I read the small print very carefully now for anything that's not supposed to be a plug-plant annual...I look at (or ask about) pot sizes - I object strongly to paying full price for a tiny plant that I could find in a GC or Nursery in a healthy condition! Too many burned fingers, so 'buyer beware'!
5 Jul, 2010
There are certain plants which can trigger it, let's hope that's what happened, labradors can be walking food vacuums can't they:-) It's so tempting to order from them especially in the no-garden days and if you have no transport, it's definitely an addiction lol:-) On that point, there's a fantastic clematis in VM's catalogue called fond memories, it's beautiful...........but I'll look for it from a clematis supplier:-)
5 Jul, 2010
Very sensible - I'm sure VM is one of the suppliers who sell tiny plugs of Clematis that you have to grow on for a couple of years before they're big enough to plant out - but at top whack prices. Just not worth the money!!
5 Jul, 2010
You just cannot beat Morrisons and The Range when it comes to buying clematis, bought 10 last year and every one has taken.....price £1.79 !!!
12 Jul, 2010
We have a Morrisons - I haven't seen any Clems there, though. I've never heard of 'The Range'...there certainly isn't one in this area.
13 Jul, 2010
They are usually in the fruit and veg section, not with the pot plants and cut flowers, on a movable stacking shelf, ours have passion flowers, clems, honeysuckles, pyracantha, vines, anything that climbs!!!
13 Jul, 2010
Yes - they have a few plants, but never very many - and certainly not the same range as yours!
14 Jul, 2010
Oh well......
