Now then Kathy, don't get too excited, you know what happens when you do. lol. it is a lovely one I agree. looking forward to seeing my day lillies opening up, you have lots, not enough room now for more, tend to just divide up the ones I have already and spread them all over the place, mainly because I like the double orange one I have v.much. and it contrasts well in the big border it is in with all the other colours.(bit of a boring gardener me) Hope you and Rob and girls are well. - Barbara

Lol Barbara, too late already searching, always room for just one more, lol, Robs making me new bed at the bottom of the garden, is the double orange one you have 'Kwanso Flore Plena' I have that its gorgeous have bits of it everywhere, one that looks amazing this year and was one of the first I ever bought is 'Big Bird' the flowers are huge, just shows some of the older varieties are better than some newer ones, must take a picture of daylily bed its starting to look great:-)
Rob and the girls are fine thanks, Danielle has passed all her exams at uni, thank goodness, even though she missed three months because of her broken ankle :-)

Tell Danielle well done from me - they make you so proud when they do the right thing bless her - Double orange daylily was a freebie and I have no idea what it is called, it came from down Roses when Paul worked there, they were doing some work and took them out and I put them in. Will put a photo on when it is opened up. Was talking to Janey yesterday about arranging a visit to Silica lodge and all meeting up there if you would like to join us, nothing arranged yet but will love to meet up with everyone in school hols for pottering around and of course cake and coffee or even lunch what you think to that idea? Would love it if Danielle could make it too plus anyone else who likes gardening. Let me know and I will sort it for us all if I can

Pamd - think it is about 8 hours drive depending on which part of Cornwall you are in - took my girls camping there one year - it was amazing, lovely lovely part of the world, you have some fantastic places to visit in your own county I am certain. But will think of you when we get to Silica Lodge in the Summer hols. Everyone is welcome to join in on the trip it should be good fun, they'll wonder what has hit them in Scunthorpe - may even have to pre-book lol. I have heard what happens when people start organising parties etc.- on facebook -GoY's could be the same, we could hit the town with a storm girls what a laugh that would be.

I have always wanted to visit Cornwall....It would be my kind of holiday destination...I would like to visit Doc Martin's area...:>)
5 Jul, 2010
You would love it Motinot - places to really lose yourself in - villages with winding lanes and wildflowers and beaches to die for, so unspoiled. One of my favourites and when the girls were younger we camped near Bodmin Moor, we had a brilliant two weeks, went everywhere - travelled for miles visiting places only thing that really spoiled it for us if spoiled is the right word we took the dog with us and we couldn't visit lots of the places we wanted to visit because we couldn't leave him anywhere. We couldn't leave him at home because we would have missed him too much so one thing outweighed the other if you like. He had a good time and we made the best out of it we could. Gardens were the biggest problem - no visiting with him. Would like to go back eventually and see the amazing gardens down there, would like to see Eden project, now that it is up and running it was still being built when we went down there. Lost gardens of Heligan etc. Oh the dreams lol.

All sounds wonderful....fresh air and sunshine...I love a good relaxing holiday...a good book, good food, plants to see and gardens to visit.....heaven....:>)

Oliveoil, you will have to make some GoY badges, did you see what we made when visiting another GoY garden. The're on my photo's. We live within walking distance of the Eden Project & most of our guests are either visiting Eden or Heligan.

Pamd = Oh you lucky thing - I looked at the Eden Project before it was finished, couldn't go in because we had the dog, too hot to leave him anywhere, so we only peeked and left. It looked pretty amazing then. What a brilliant idea the badges are, will have to have a go at that for our visit to Silica Lodge, hope the weather is holding out for you all down in Cornwall, believe you had some of that wet stuff, we desperately need some here in Lincolnshire, Wednesday hopefully, supposed to be wet, plants are preserving themselves and going to seed so quickly, keep watering but it isn't doing much good. Thanks for passing your brill idea on. - Barbara (Olive is my middle name) just used it for a giggle really. thanks again
