Evening primrose

Lovely delicate shade, I thought they were always yellow!

These are quite low growing and spread everywhere, Carole! I'm sure someone told me the name last year but I can't remember it now :)

Look a little like Linaria, but sometimes photos are misleading;0)

I've just googled it, Carole, and I think it may be Oenothera speciosa, the pic looks the same and the write up says 'once you have it, it may be hard to get rid of'!! It certainly does spread so its a good job I like it :)

Well its very pretty Gee and you now know it is an Evening Primrose, is it growing in a border or in a rockery ?

It's growing in my front garden, so putting up with heavy wet clay during the winter and hard baked clay during hot weather. It doesn't seem to mind either :)

That's just described my soil Gee ... must get some evening primrose!
They are a lovely colour.

If you would like some of this I would be happy to send you some little plantlets and I always have plenty of seed from the yellow ones a little later in the year, Fluff.
