Filled 5 bottles, and the half-bottle or so left over went down very well with the first of our homegrown strawberries. Cheers, Pamd! :-))

Although not fizzy, as it should be after a couple of weeks' storage, the leftovers smelled, and tasted, great. Added some white wine to the glass, though. Cheers!

I'll let you know what the finished product is like. ;-))

Aster, I've used screwcap bottles so that I can release the gas pressure occasionally. Explosions might be good "cannon fire" sound effects, lol, but wouldn't care to clean up the mess! :-))

Mmm,this was the 60's lol,not too sure if screwcaps were available then. Home brewing has come on a lot since then.
Mum made cough medicine from the elder flowers, jam and wine from the berries.Alas I don't have those recipes :(
The young un's at work wonder why I never catch any bugs,I think that medicine set me up for life lol !

Was around then, Aster, but far too young to know about such things, lol!

Help is very close to hand, however, with a recipe for elder syrup posted by Amy. To the right of the pic above, click on "elder" next to "Featured on".
This takes you to the Goypedia elder page. Photo 12 is a pic of Amy's syrup. Click on the pic, scroll down, and Amy has written her recipe!!!!!! Ain't this place just wonderful????? :-))

I'm sure it will be when ready in 2 weeks, Holly. :-))
