There really are thousands DD, bought a fabulous book earlier this year called The New Encyclopedia of Dayliles by Ted L Petit and John P Peat with over 1700 varieties some of the colours and patterns are out of this world, of course most aren't available in this country yet, but some of mine are in there:-), even has a section on daylilies of the future that are being trialled in America now, unbelievable they just don't look real, great book, just to look at the pictures, lol.

Ooo I wish DD if only I had the room, have you looked on Pollies Daylilies she has over 1500 !!!!!!!!!, just been having a look myself , they've started breeding quite a few and any that aren't quite good enough, but too good for the compost heap, are going to be sold for £3 each.
