Bee and leek

Took a trip up to the top garden where the veg beds are and caught some bees swimming in the pollen of mum's leeks (she lets them go to flower because none of the rest of us like them :P)

ahh, i got made to eat one raw once... put me off for life! i probably should give them another chance... but wouldn't want to deprive those poor bees ;)

Raw????? Must have been like a giant Spring Onion!!!!! But - of course - you have to keep your bees happy! ;-D)

it was an air cadet initiation thing a few years ago... Not actually sure what spring onions taste like, but it was rather unpleasant ;)
And yes, i like to see them smiling :P

At least the bees are getting the benefit. We couldn't imagine life without leeks - our favourite veg, and used as often as we can.
