I confess - I had two sets of three....one 'set' survived and are in flower. From the other set, I lost two, so I bought two new corms. This is a new one, but the third one in the pot will be last year's. I was 'quite'pleased, because last year was the first time I've ever grown begonias! I'll carry on, now. I like them in pots and they go on and on flowering!

Very pretty and like you say prolific flowering!

Thanks - I didn't think I liked large flowered begonias - but I do. :-)))

Aromantics - I seem to recall seeing them advertised as some new fragrant Begonias?
Looks like it will be a nice bloom when it opens, lovely.

I'm surprised you haven't already got these, Mark. I'll have to go and take a sniff to see if they really do have a scent.

No, i was tempted. I do have "John Smith", and also "Olivier" which are 2 from Blackmore and Langdon - they are supposed to be fragrant too. There is a slight fragrance to "John Smith", but nothing special. I only got "Olivier" this time, so it hasn't flowered yet.
If "Aromantics" has a better fragrance, maybe i made the wrong choice of which to get!

I should ask you which ones to grow next year - last year was my first attempt, and the pots look great....I rather fancy some picotee ones next!

The Picotees always look good, when we did the stand at the show people often commented on the picotees.
I tried Saturn a few years ago, but lost it over winter - thinking of trying it next year. Cordelia looks good too, might try that. It's similar to Masquerade, but looks as if it has bigger blooms (which seems to do better at shows). Jean Blair and Can Can are some yellow / red ones - there are so many to choose from. I'm sure there are some unnamed ones too.

I wouldn't want plants with huge blooms, Mark - just medium-sized so they're not too heavy. I fancy a deep pink with paler edges - do you know of one, please?

You're probably right, the larger blooms need a cane to tie the plant to prevent the stem snapping off. Some of them need bloom supports too.
Most picotees tend to have a pink, or red around the edge of the bloomwith a white, cream or yellow centre. But there are loads of different ones, and with the unnamed Begonias you might find anything. Most of my Begonias are the larger double tuberous type - which are susceptible to the sun burning the leaves.
I know that a few years ago i found a beautiful looking Begonia with white around the edges on the internet - when i received it the edges were red, when i complained the supplier tried to blame "Taylors" the firm whose name was on the bag - the picture was completly wrong - peach with white edge to yellow with red edge. Hope you find a suitable colour.

Thanks for the help - i'll be looking in the autumn. I've already got one bulb catalogue - I'll have a browse in there soon and ask your advice, if you don't mind?
