If you mean the one to the left Ehsanraya, it's an acer. A lovely one, at that!

yes,its an acer palmatum,its ten years old now,ive just repotted it today into a larger pot,with ericaceous compost.its our favorite tree along with the large pinus one that dwarfs my little garden!

Hi Keithbob! I am thinking of digging out an octagonal pond this winter and just spotted your photo.....what do you think...is the raised pond any easier to keep clean and clear of algae and do you think it still works to attract wildlife? It certainly looks lovely!

i believe i bought this raised pond in (no frills or focus)about three years ago,you assemble it with hexagonal pieces around a large inner base pool.not too sure if they still sell them?as long as you have an even surface they are easy to assemble.i have a normal pond pump running the fountain with about half a dozen goldfish and a few oxygenating plants included.i have purchased a hozelock clear water pump,but afraid its too large for my pond!.I still get algae but probably because its in full sun most of the day.(change the water occasionally using a length of hose)i havent had much wildlife.dragonflys etc.maybe because i have fine netting over it to stop leaves dropping in!
