Thanks Teddygirl, I love them too. I split and put some along the back of my new border last year so hopefully I'll have more this year.

mines spread like weeds and I have to pull them all the time or they would take over

I have these new in my garden this year and have been told that I have to dig them up every year to seperate the bulbs or they won't bloom well. Is this true?
When I hear Helen say her's spread so well I begin to wonder.

I haven't split mine Valerie, although I did lift some last year as I wanted to put them along the back of my new border, when the trees came down and the fence went back up ... and mine have always flowered well. I wasn't intending lifting any this year - I'll have a look and see if I can find out more info about that though - maybe you do it if you want to have even more flowers the following year??? By that I mean have more plants and propagate by division.
I'll let you know what I find out. I've added some photos of the clump that I lifted the corms from last year, and also where I planted the lifted corms to show the stage they're at now. Hope this helps.
