Garden looking good :o)

Paradise found....right on the River Dee and such a lush garden. Looking good.

Is that a pond I can see in the photo (by the benches)? If you haven't already posted a photo close-up, I'd like to see one. I'm only just now going through your photos so I may come across one. If so, apologies.

Ah, I wondered, saw Dee and thought Aberdeen, then saw you were in Wales. Lovely!

Yes we have our very own Dee here, thanks for your help, got the hang of things now. I hope.
My son fishes the Dee up there says it good fishing.

Of course, but not as good as the Tay..goes without saying...the Tay is the best!

Yes so I believe.
Well its the last day of my stay today the sun is shining and im going to make the most of it before we fly home tomorrow.
Get the rod out Thursday and try to beat the Heron again if there are any fish left.

Oh, gosh, now I'm confused Terry. Where do you call home then?

5 Oct, 2010

I have been out it Toulouse Fance staying with my son for a week he works there so I get out to see as often as I can, sorry for the confusion, back in LLangollen now.

Terry, we've had quite a discussion on GOY about craneflies and one of the things I discovered is that fishermen use them for bait. Have you ever tried that as I believe you fish in your stretch of the river? Back in Llangollen now....and your beautiful garden :)

6 Oct, 2010

ha ha, that's ok Terry. Happy fishing today with the craneflies!

7 Oct, 2010

Will not be fishing today, there has been that much rain the river is very high and cloudy, not good for fishing at the moment give it a couple of day should be ok.
Not tried the cranefly, but will give it a try see if it works here, thanks for the tip.
The weather forecast is to pick up so fingers crossed.

It's been the same all over the UK I think Terry. I have standing water in my garden ...again....third time in about a week and a half. Luckily today we have beautiful day so I'm going out to do some tidying up! Hope your river settles down soon....

7 Oct, 2010

Its been nice here to, I have also been out to do a bit of tidying, in now for a cuppa, got to get the place ready for a new heating boiler to be fitted tomorrow ready for the cold weather, glad its gone now and not in the middle of winter.
Rivers looking a lot better already.

7 Oct, 2010

It will be interesting to see if the craneflies do the trick, Terry....too bad you can't fish in the river today but there's always plenty to do in the garden. After being out and about and tidying up I bet the cuppa was a welcome diversion.

Glad the river is looking better :)

Gas man has just finished fitting the new boiler so I now have to put the kitchen units back, but he has done a great job very tidy.
The weather here is not to nice today but very warm, going to pick my grandson up later so I'm hoping we will be able wet a line tomorrow.

8 Oct, 2010

Here's hoping, Terry. I've not heard the expression you use "wet a line"....have to remember that...new instantly what you meant though. Have fun with the grandson :)

8 Oct, 2010

Enjoyed the w / end with the grandson he is 14years old, but had to go to local chippy for our fish. ha ha ha

11 Oct, 2010

Oh dear.....good thing you have a chippy for fish then. I've been chatting to my niece in Canada and her husband loves fishing and hunting. He's been fishing in a few rivers the last month or so and he's caught so many beautiful salmon...she has my mouth watering just mentioning fresh salmon. They have canned 80 jars of salmon, given away 7 or 8 whole salmon and smoked quite a lot as well. Oh to be there to share their bounty!

Hope you get to wet a line really soon, Terry. :)

I know what you mean about Canada my son has a house there on Vancouver island, they use it for holidays, it is near Cambell river well known for salmon, I have been out there fishing and its fab, we had the salmon we caught canned and sent back to uk, the Canadians are lovely people,He is off there again tomorrow with the family, wish I was going to.
Will have to make with the Dee in llangollen.

14 Oct, 2010

Oh Terry...you'll make me homesick :( I'm Canadian, from Vancouver so I'll be bold and class myself as one of the "lovely people" you mention...lol

Your son is very lucky to have a property near Campbell River...my parents owned property on Bowen Island but sadly sold it when poor health meant they had to move to the mainland. We couldn't afford a place to pitch a tent now over there. Hope you get another opportunity to visit again....and the Dee in Llangollen is wonderful....a river on your doorstep :)

14 Oct, 2010

What a shame you had to leave Canada its absolutly wonderful there, and the fishing is one of the best in the world.
Bit cold in the winter.

14 Oct, 2010

Well Terry...I did marry an Englishman...lol Vancouver has a similar climate to here in Merseyside (lots of rain!! and we can get cold weather...they had a really bad winter last year). It's said you can swim in the ocean and ski on the slopes all in the same day on the west coast!

14 Oct, 2010

I was there a few years ago in June and there was still snow on the mountains and the rivers temp was freezing, but still a lovely place to be.
