Persicaria 'Red Dragon' is grown for its beautiful leaves, but the flowers are pretty, even though they're small.

Yes, I agree...I saw this plant on GOY and it went on my wish-list two or even three years ago. :-)

i wasnt sure about the flowers till i saw them close barbara but quite like them now ;o)

I thought I might cut them off last year, but I'm quite glad I didn't. I do like them. :-)

Do you know, in all the time I had my Persicaria, I never saw it flower, I didn't even realise that it did! :~(((

Oooohhhhh- what a shame! I 'think' that the ones in part shade don't have flowers on them. That could be the reason.

Oooh dear...wrong again. I looked this afternoon, and they do have flowers, but the leaf colour has changed to greenish-brown instead of that lovely burgundy colour.
