Clerodendrum thomsoniae - Bleeding Heart Clerodendrum

These are pretty widely available here as house plants and I keep picking them up and putting them down. Maybe next time.

This plant can be kept very small like a bonsai. : > )

I do already have a Clerodendrum Camillia - C. Ugandense. It's one of my favourite plants and I couldn't resist posting another photo of it today.

Camillia:

C. thomsoniae grows very quickly...like most Clerodendrum. I'm sure it thrives in your tropical climate.

LOL!!! That's great! I think you're going to be pleased with how well C. thomsoniae grows and blooms over a long period of time.

I guess I'm so used them being sold here in big containers for the yard already with hundreds of flowers on them. : > )

Just a few flowers. I potted it on as it was severely pot bound. The nursery have clearly been cutting the tips out to keep it compact. But as it was reduced to three quid I couldn't pass up on one again!

Sounds like you got a great deal on your plant.

Your plant should bloom for a long time.

Hopefully it'll be as rapid growing as my C.Ugandense Delonix.
