This Geranium has little pretty flower on long sprawly stems. It's useful in a dry corner, not as a feature.

No, the stems and leaves are a lot 'coarser'...I read my book, and it is supoosed to set seed - we'll see.
They are beautiful flowers, aren't they! You have to get down close to them to see, though.

You are obviously an expert on G's Spritz, so help, I purchased about 6 this year, one of them, cant remember the name at the mo. but it has gone mad about 3 ft x 3 ft. but only one or 2 flowers, very pretty deep crimson, what can I do to make it flower more profusely next year?? thanks

Oh Patricia - I wish you knew its name. I have lots, as you know, and also three useful books to look others up...How's about a photo? That might help - make sure there's a leaf. too. I gather it's close to the ground, is it? Do the stems stretch out a long way a bit leggy?

Gorgeous close-up just like my Oxonianum 'lace time' which is nothing special from a distance!

Hallo, hallo - who's this taking a peek at one of my geraniums?
Glad you like the flowers, Karen, but the plant really isn't anything to write home about...shame, really!

There are so many lovely ones....did you see the article in last month's The Garden...or was it Gardens Illustrated? There were a couple in there that I really want to get, including the Phaeum...Margaret Wilson.....don't know where on earth I will put it though!! Something else will have to come out to make more space!

Margaret Wilson is definitely worth having, Karen. The foliage by itself sets it apart from all other phaeums! I haven't looked at August's 'The Garden' yet - I will now, though! :-) Hope it is that one.

No, it was last month. it must have been 'gardens illustrated' Barbara. Actually, come to think...it could have been august..I've already binned that one. I never keep them, don't have the room.

Oh well....never mind....I pass most of mine on to a neighbour who passes them on ...and so on!
26 Aug, 2010
Now, that's a thought, I could pass mine on to my gardening neighbour...he might like a look! Thanks! I used to give them all to my FIL but he sadly died last November...mm...not long now and we'll have that anniversary to think about :(

Anniversaries are v.v. difficult, Karen. I did find it a comfort to mark it quietly - I put a small vase of flowers in front of mum's photo. At Christmas we all drank a toast to her.

Lovely ideas B..thanks!
