Guess what! The wind blew the petals off today - so unless the plant does its stuff, that flower was unique! ;-((

Well - we have a lot of v.v.v. wet weather heading our way tomorrow, so the plant had better wait a while if it does intend to flower again!

Yes - I told OH, who's on dog-walking duties at the moment, and he took H. out BEFORE it started! YAY! (It's raining hard now, though. ...)

managed to get our walk in this morning before it really came down too thank goodness.

It's still raining here at almost 7. We've had about 17mm now.

No more measurable rain overnight here, but it's damp and dreary outside. I think we could all do with some rays of sun, now!

Returning to the single Cosmos, I'll swap you for all of mine, they have wonderful foliage, stand about 4-5ft. tall with not one bud ! The wind is doing its best to knock them over, but I'm fed up with looking at them now, I'm going out to pull them all up. Easier said than done, they have Bamboo size stems !

What - NO buds, Shirley? Unbelieveable. :-((( Get heaving....

LOL, Spritz, they just keep on growing and growing and growing, I'm thinking Jack and The Beanstalk each time I see them ! Far too wet today, again, to uproot them, Bank Holiday job to look forward to methinks !

It's cleared up here - sun arrived mid-morning and has stayed! There's hope for you, too, Shirley, but not a lot for your Cosmos, I fear! :-((((

Snails in my case, Cristina! I expects slugs like them as well, though. :-((

i grow them every year but i do put pellets down ,so may be thats y they left them alone x

I thought mine were safe in the greenhouse - growing happily, but oh no! In came snails and bye-bye Cosmos. :-((

yes i had slugs in my radishes in greenhouse ...... perskiy little beggers lol . any way we have sun at last ,but i now have some blight on my lovely beef toms , so am king daliy grrrrrr ;0((( to much rain !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm sorry - blight is a pain! I haven't grown tomatoes this year - got fed up after the last two years' crop being wrecked. :-((

think if we had more sun wud have bin ok. they were doing so well. but have a lot of plants so fingers x
