Probably am 6d, as I am pulling so much blanket weed out despite using the expensive chemical soloutions! but must admit I do enjoy it, it reminds me of fishing when I was a child;0)

In my gardening mag it advises not to fill ponds with tap water only top up as tap water they are adding plant food to, which causes the blanket weed to grow more.

I have read that too 6d ,but its easier said than done, as when we first made the pond we didnt have any alternative but to fill it with tap water, but I have also read it does take two seasons for the pond to find the right balance, so heres hoping it will right it self with the right plant balance;0)

Do you not need a filter or small fountain in your pond? Is it just filled with water and planted up? It's filled up nicely with your planting and your visitor seems to be at home there.
