Today (12-09-2010) I got a comment from Pamg telling me about this recipe from Shirleytulip, so I wasted no time and started to bake...This was the result ;-)

I made my second one the other day, Hilda. this time I used nectarines instead of plums - was equally delicious!

Hi Hilda, I'm just catching up on things. This plum cake, either straight or with my own variations has got me through winter. I have at least one a week. Hope you are ok?:-)

Hi Bornagain,
Yummy...
Thanks for asking. I have got the flue for the moment, so not too good. But I am getting better already.
I have also been very busy with one or more grandchildren 'now and then'. That's why I haven't been on GoY for a while, there's no time left.
They are great fun, but also a lot of work. Our eldest grandson (almost 4) can already bake lovely bread (and roll dough), really funny to see.
Our younghest daughter had her third child at our home (with a midwife). Their house is being renovated (almost a new construction), so they temporarily had to move to a small flat. Our house is much bigger, and she had her baby in the bath (jacuzzi). But it was a lot of work for me. But also great fun.
Hope you are well too.
We are coming over to London at the end of this month, and will meet Grandmage, I'll bring her lots of plants (indoor plants), just like I did for David, when we went to Edinburgh last November. With the Eurostar I'll be able to bring some more, for we will be the only ones who handle the suitcases, not the airport staff (who throw with them).
Where do yóu live ;-) ? Lol
Hilda

Your name will go down in history Shirley ¦:-) Hilda, I live in the West Midlands (lovely Walsall). It must have been very hectic at you house of late, but good fun as you say. My 5 year old grandaughter Aislinn loves baking too, but I don't think she's made any bread yet, I'm very inpressed ¦:-)

It's wrong that I'll be known for a recipe, rather than a plant, on a gardening forum ... lol!
