They are like rhododendrons, they prefer acid soil. If you want to grow them in a pot, use ericaceous compost and you should have no problems. You can buy rhododendron and azalea food to keep them nourished.

Thanks everyone. Sorry to hear some of you can't grow them. I think my well rotted manure has helped the acid loving plants.

Hi Dawn, Lovely plant, mine had two goes as well. Must have been the weather. I trimmed mine back slightly too to reshape the bush
