Spiders web.

Spiders web.

He spun his web over the entire big pane of the kitchen window. The window cleaner broke it last week but he soon had it repaired.

It looks like a St Andrews cross spider (Araneus diadematus). Be careful with the big ones as they have been known to nip! This is not unusual for British spiders: several of them are capable of biting though it is very unusual to have a reaction to the bites other than a red, itchy/sore patch.
These spiders can spin large webs.

Happy gardening!

A very industrious spider then....getting his web rebuilt! As long as they stay outside I think they're just grand! lol

Lovely closeup Homebird, but YUK! I cant stand spiders, they make me shudder, but I will admit its good to see them spin their web.

I know what you mean Homebird, and this is the time of the year isn't it. Before I walk through the greenhouse door, I pick up the broom which I leave just inside ,and clear the cobwebs first cos you get the spiders in them , and I'm just like you, can't stand the thought of anything in my hair or when they break across your face.
