Meanie:

Absolutely beautiful photo of this flower!

I love the fragrance of Polianthes tuberosa...it so extremely fragrant. It grows outside all year here...however, is not very showy until it blooms.

Thank you Delonix!
I'd say that the foliage is positively messy! The pure white flowers and fragrance more than make up for that though!

Meanie:

The foliage reminds me a little bit of Daylilies...but at least Daylilies bloom all year here. Yes, the fragrance is worth having some Pilianthes tuberosa though.

Ooo yes love the single one too, was just going to say is it scented but see from the comments it is, may have to have one of each :-)
Lucky you Delonix daylilies blooming all year, mine have all finished now except for 'Yabba Dabba Doo' that just keeps going on and on.

Simbad:

Yes, we're lucky here in San Diego! : > )

I just learned recently that Daylilies die back in colder climates. In Southern California they grow and produce many flowers all year in full sun.

Yes they die back here Delonix, some are evergreen or semi-evergreen but most die back completely, last year we had a really mild autumn and lots were still flowering at the end of october, but thats unusual usually its mid september.
Thats it then moving to San Diego, and bringing all my daylilies with me,lol :-)
