It's lovely. I think I might have this. I planted it in the garden in the warmest most sheltered spot, as an experiment...just to see if it would survive and flower. If it is the same it's growing well, but no buds.

You'll know from my blogs that I don't have a 'proper' garden laid out as yet so for now this will remain in a pot. It's suitable for container growing according to the label that came with it so we shall see.

I hope you get some flowers next year....won't get any this year if there are no buds. Recommended to plant in North, Northwest or West facing spec, light shade,sheltered position. Protect from strong winds and early morning sun will prolong the flower display. Well drained acid soil (pH4.5-6). Maybe you have all this information, Karen but thought I'd pass it along just in case you haven't.

Seems you've planted in a good location...shame about no flowers yet.

Ah well, it is only a baby....I'll give it a couple more years. Having said that, it's a bit bigger than yours...but as it's in the ground I'll let it off. They all seem to do very well in pots don't they. I thought it would be lovely to have something flowering in the autumn. I had another look at it today and there's one bud, but it's still quite small....it might be leaf bud, but I think it could be a flower......here's hoping!

I sure hope this one will grow and flourish in its pot. I've only received it as a gift a few days ago and I do so want it to do well.

Well, with all those flowerbuds on, it is sure to be a picture for the next few weeks anyway! I love Camellias WLass. I may even buy a couple more for the garden and move some other things...they are such lovely shiny evergreens!

Will look nice when you can plant it, I expect you know to plant it in Ericaceous soil, just in case you didn't, Ha! Shut up me of course she does LOL :o)))

Yes, thanks Ladyessex....although I think it will remain in the pot for a long while yet. The pot and plant were given to me on my birthday and they do look so nice together...just need to sort out a more permanent spot for it when the back garden is properly sorted.

It "isn't" :( There are about 6 leaves and some brown buds looking very sorry for themselves. It is meant to bloom in the autumn so I'm hoping it will revive. I'll be so disappointed if I lose it.

Oh no, it may well perk up after a bit of summer sun (fingers crossed) x
