I bought 2 of these bird seed feeders today :-)))
They're cast iron, have a 'stem' which is black and about 4' high but 12" of that is a two-pronged fork which sinks into the ground to secure it.
The open bloom is about 6 or 7" across and you place the seed in there.
I love them, so does my friend Spritz ;-)

That is very nice, as you know it would be know good in my garden to many vermin, but on the positive side wouldn't they double as nice spot plant pot holders in the summer.

Certainly prettier than the usual bird feeders......can I get them at my local GC....or did you get it at an independent.
3 Oct, 2010
I've not seen them in Wyevale but they might have them. This one is another large GC but i'm not sure of their name, used to be an independent until a few years ago .... i have also seen these online - infact that's where i saw them first, i googled metal feeders and loads of choices popped up.
There's a place called Webbs Direct that sells them.

I love them even if you didnt use them for seen they make a lovely splash of colour and would brighten any garden;0)

Yes, I agree. Would be nice just as a decoration in winter.

Oooh I think they're so different ... I suppose my cats would make them a danger zone for birds tho'. Mind you they feed off the ground so maybe they would fly up in time. I think they're fab!

lovely Louise, what a nice way to brighten the garden in Aurumn and winter and still feed the birds.
