This popped up through the foliage of an aquilega that didn't flower this year. Is it a Welsh Poppy?

How nice for you to have this lovely surprise Gee , strange things are happening in the garden , at least I think so , so many flowers are blooming now that you don't expect in Sept ....

Sue has them in her garden and they're prolific self seeders, although whether there's enough of the season left for seeds to develop on this one I don't know.

The last time I managed to grow a poppy it came to a sticky end (blog May 2009) so I am keeping a close eye on this one. There is another bud coming too :)
